This is a fundamental part of the company’s financial, marketing, personnel and commercial consideration.
The Board of Directors champions this policy: their responsibility is to ensure that business managers have the belief, competence and resources to implement the policy and achieve its aims. The support and professionalism of our people will make the policy succeed.
Recognising that our activities matter to the environment, community, our people and customers, and to others who may be affected by what we do, we will:
• Make a positive and commercially realistic contribution to improving the environment in which we operate
• Identify hazards and control risk as core elements of our strategy thereby minimising the social impact of the company’s activities and avoid damage to the environment
• Provide equipment and systems of work which will allow us to pursue the best standards of protection of the environment
• As part of their continuing professional development, educate our people to meet the environmental needs of our company, customers and the community at large
• Encourage effective communication with our people, customers, contractors, suppliers, governmental and regulatory authorities and with others affected by our operations; and take account of the views expressed
• Encourage our people, contractors and suppliers to achieve comparable environmental standards
• Comply with European and national directives, together with relevant codes of practice concerning environmental protection
• To minimise our consumption of materials, fuel, energy and water and to recycle as much as is economically feasible
• Set objectives to minimise and reduce adverse environmental impact
• To undertake environmental impact studies as part of any company relocation or enlargement of existing facilities
This policy will be subject to regular consultation and annual review.
