P&O Ferrymasters set to acquire Mov'on Logistics
2nd April 2009
Leading European logistics service provider, P&O Ferrymasters, has reached an agreement to acquire Mov’on Logistics. The deal, which will be finalised before the end of April, is aimed at strengthening Ferrymasters’ growing business in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Mov’on Logistics specialises in logistics, transportation, warehousing and general forwarding on routes to CEE. It has four offices, employing operational and sales staff in Poland (Gorzow), Ukraine (Kiev), Russia (Moscow) and Hellevoetsluis (The Netherlands).
P&O Ferrymasters will retain 18 full-time equivalent jobs and the Mov’on Logistics operations will be integrated into the company’s European office network. The Hellevoetsluis office will be combined with Ferrymasters’ Europoort operation.
Bas Belder, P&O Ferrymasters’ Managing Director, said: “This is an investment in our company’s future. Opening up a gateway to Asia through Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Ukraine is key to our future success and fits with our long-term objective to expand our service offering in this area. We have already opened new offices in Poland (May 2008) and Romania (February 2008) as part of this plan and this deal will further strengthen our position in the next big battleground for business. Mov’on Logistics is an established and experienced company and will provide us with a solid platform on which to build our intermodal transport solutions and logistics services offering for our existing and potential customer base.”
