Expansion intermodal services to Italy
New intermodal services launched by P&O Ferrymasters
Three new intermodal services to Italy have been launched by leading logistics provider P&O Ferrymasters.
P&O Ferrymasters will now offer intermodal services to/from Bari, Naples and Bologna in Italy from/to Rotterdam (Holland) and Zeebrugge (Belgium).
Bari, which is the second economic centre of southern Italy, will be served by daily rail links from Milan. The Naples service will operate via Busto Arsizio, 25km north of Milan in northern Italy, which boasts one of Europe’s most advanced intermodal centres. Bologna, with its strategically important location, will act as a gateway to Greece as well as serving local traffic. It will become the company’s second strategic hub terminal in Italy after Melzo which is 20km east of Milan.
Mark Mulder, Commercial Director, said: “The launch of these new services is the next stage of our intermodal expansion strategy to meet an increasing demand for specialist combined transport services and expertise.

P&O Ferrymasters has 25 offices in nine European countries, including bases in Milan, Rome and Verona.
