P&O Ferrymasters member of the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA)

Ongoing investment to drive business forward

A 16 million Euro investment has been made in the P&O Ferrymasters fleet to meet a growing demand for
specialist services, the leading logistics and freight management services provider has announced.

By the end of this year 610 new trailers will have been introduced to replace or expand the fleet. The investment
comprises:
• 200 coil carriers – complete with a 9m coil well, sliding curtain and sliding roof for steel and coil
transportation;
• 275 Euroliner trailers – some have reinforced curtains for high value goods transportation;
• 75 Mega trailers – for the automotive industry;
• 60 reefer trailers for temperature controlled loads.

The investment will help to spearhead the company’s drive for more business in some key specialist areas such
as high value goods. It follows hot on the heels of P&O Ferrymasters’ membership of the Transported Asset
Protection Association (TAPA).

TAPA is a global organisation which leads the fight against supply chain crime and consists of security
professionals and related business partners from companies involved in the transportation of high value
goods. TAPA aims to ensure the safe and secure transportation of members’ assets by setting stringent industry
standards for truck/trailer security, communications systems, security procedures, pre-employment checks
and training issues. It also organises training and co-ordinates a crime incident database.

P&O Ferrymasters has gone a step further by setting up a special project team in Amsterdam with a dedicated
team of trained staff to oversee the company’s risk management processes, liaison with other TAPA members
and compliance with TAPA’s stringent requirements.

Mark Mulder, P&O Ferrymasters’ Commercial Director, said: “Continuously improving our services to grow
our business and ensuring the security of our customers’ cargo are key priorities for us.

“This massive fleet investment will enable us to develop our business across some key specialist areas, while
membership of TAPA will help us to build on our existing security arrangements by sharing information and
best practice about asset protection with other global organisations.”
