EUROPE’S ‘INCREDIBLE TOY STORY'
A ‘Decade of Disney’ with European contract renewal
Leading European freight management provider P&O Ferrymasters has been rewarded for a ‘Decade of Disney’ with a newly-signed store replenishment contract in recognition of its 10 years of getting the world’s most famous cartoon and animated icons to showcase stores in Europe’s most spectacular and fashionable cities.
The new multi-million Euro deal will build upon the work Ferrymasters has been carrying out across 60 Disney stores in Europe – including delivery into Venice via a Gondola along the Grand Canal - and will also include the complex logistics involved in planned new store openings.
The new contract marks the 10th year of the partnership that has been concentrated on France, Italy, Spain and the Canary Islands.
“Disney is one of the world’s most recognisable brands and has some of the most distinctive city centre locations, all of which require top level logistics to make sure the merchandise reaches the stores in advance of film releases in order to keep customers of all ages happy. P&O Ferrymasters has stepped up to the mark and seamlessly achieved this over the last 10 years and we look forward to working with the team in the future,” says Pam Fletcher at Disney.
P&OFM contract manager Andrew Leach adds: “This is a very demanding account requiring specialist attention. We deliver to some of the most spectacular locations in several of Europe’s must fashionable cities and I’m looking forward to a challenging period as we commence the new contract.”
This year will see the release of Disney’s latest summer blockbuster ‘Cars’ which is set to rival the success of ‘Toy Story’ and ‘The Incredibles’. Ferrymasters will be delivering the merchandise to all of the 60 stores including new locations including showcase stores in Murcia, Spain scheduled to open in November and Rome, later in the year.
