JULES’ APPOINTMENT COMPLETES P&O’s JOURNEY

P&O Ferrymasters appoints Contract Logistic Director

P&O Ferrymasters has appointed Jules Menheere as its new contract logistics director to take the company to the next stage of its journey from A to B distribution provider 10 years ago, to full service added value solutions from 2007.

"This is an evolution, not a revolution as we already offer added value services to our customers today through our different delivery channels of freight management, including the management of warehousing and customer implants on our larger contracts," says Menheere who joins Ferrymasters from VOS Logistics where he was director for forwarding.

Menheere who speaks English, German, Spanish and French in addition to his native Dutch, is working on a new structure for the European business and will focus upon organically growing contract logistics business from existing freight management customers in the first instance.

"The idea is not only to take on the big boys in Europe, but to communicate to the businesses that don't currently use us that we are already a big player in added value services through our unique freight management offering that can provide both asset and non-asset flexibility to keep the service lean and the price competitive.
Menheere will be working closely with new commercial director Mark Mulder, also based in Amsterdam, to develop new customer strategies across Europe and to prove Ferrymasters has both the heritage and pedigree to deliver high quality logistics solutions, including a sophisticated intermodal offering from north to the southern Europe, including Greece and Turkey. Ukraine and Eastern Europe are also high on the agenda for future intermodal growth.

With experience as the chairman of a not-for-profit Dutch TV and radio station, Menheere plans to broadcast Ferrymasters' capabilities across Europe by listening and responding to customer's needs and designing solutions to fit.
