As Haulage Planning Area Manager, you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. The main purpose of your role is to be responsible for the correct and on-time performance of all transport orders on advised corridor East (Baltics, Nordics, Hungary, Austria, Turkey e.g.).
Key Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the divisions of Haulage Planning based in Gdynia, Katowice, Hamburg, Istanbul and you will report directly to the Head of Haulage Planning;
- Ensure a correct performance of all transport orders, by the Planning desks and taking into account of the wishes/needs of the relations of P&O Ferrymasters;
- Ensure by means of pro-active communication that customers are aware of all related changes, delays and/or other calamities;
- You will review the operational position by analysing trends in order to re- appraise strategy and plans and to implement changes as appropriate;
- Negotiate with and control hauliers, ensuring that they are available as required and provide the set standard of service at the lowest possible cost;
- You will look for continuous improvements, in order to optimize the admin process and reduce overall costs;
- You will take lead in the yearly performance cycle evaluation of staff members.
Your profile
- Have at least two years of specific work experience as a Haulage Planning Area Manager
- Have strong affinity with logistics
- Have a strong hands-on mentality
- Are a real team player and a people manager
- Have very good knowledge of Polish and the English language
