Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF)

The BAF is updated weekly, and the level is based on the average price for the range in the previous week.

The new weekly BAF will be stated on Mondays and will become effective immediately for the respective week. Concerning other air pollutants, P&O Ferrymasters meets the strict environmental standards that apply to the North Sea and the Baltic Sea in all its operations. P&O Ferrymasters also takes an active part in the work for environmental improvements at sea through the Danish Shipowners’ Association and supports the Danish Shipowners' Association's climate charter. BAF is calculated on collection date.

Bunker costs (EUR) are based on:

Average bunker costs: Marine Gas Oil (MGO) FOB Barges 0.1% high Rotterdam.
Converted into EUR from USD at a daily rate of exchange, based on European Central Bank (ECB), official rates.
Based on the source: Platts, Bunkerwire, daily issue
'Platts is the leading global provider of energy and metals information, and the world's foremost source of price assessments in the physical energy markets.'
7% will be added to the FOB Barges Platts index, due to environmental and handling costs

Fuel Surcharge / Emergency Fuel Escalator

Below you can find the Fuel Surcharge percentage for Intermodal and road transport. The percentage is updated weekly.

For customers operating under the Fuel Surcharge mechanism, the March rate of 2.53% is frozen until further notice, supplemented by a weekly Emergency Fuel Escalator.

The average diesel price: 1.666 per liter for Febuary.

The average diesel price: 1.941 per liter for week 10 in March.

The Fuel surcharge is based on P&O Ferrymasters' Average Automotive Diesel Price (per 1000 litre incl. tax).

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) surcharge

The GHG surcharge applies for all shipments in P&O equipment (containers and trailers). The surcharge is updated monthly.

The first GHG Surcharge is based on the price of the European Union Allowance (EUA).

The average EUA price for the period November 16th to December 15th is EUR 82.01

The average EUA price for the period December 16th to January 15th is EUR 86.25
