Intermodal Planner
Key responsibilites
- Combining loads to optimize the load factor, taking in account loading/unloading areas, wishes/demands of clients, specific load characteristics and combined load regulations. Mindset: Operational Excellence to exceed customer expectations
- To communicate with drivers/hauliers so that an optimal service and loading/unloading can be achieved.
- To reduce so-called “empty kilometers” by combining loads and searching for repositioning loads.
- Cost optimization linked to the activity/region you are being assigned.
- Aligned and co-ordination of laden units for rail departure, in conjunction with the rail planning team in Zeebrugge
- Monitoring of equipment stock levels in the assigned region, ensuring capacity is available as required whilst avoiding exceeding storage costs.
- Ensure that knowledge of carriage of goods is kept up to date by reading any circulars distributed on the subject.
Your profile
- Are educated to a minimum of MBO-level or equivalent (preferably in logistics)
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Have good command of English language;
- Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Topographical knowledge
- Are customer orientated and have good topographical knowledge
