Sales Manager

Your Role

As a Sales Manager you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. Your team consists of experienced colleagues and by teaming up with other operational and supportive departments within the organisation; a high service level can be achieved with the shared aim of achieving the very best for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

The regional Sales Manager maintains, as well as increases book of business from a portfolio of assigned existing regional customers and opens doors at potential customers resulting in new business.

Main focus for this role is to hunt new business from accounts anchored in Belgium, building up an own customer portfolio, next to that also being account manager for an existing customer portfolio.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Commercial focus on retaining and growing business with existing customers as well as acquiring new business from potential customers
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers
  • Draw and execute an account plan per customer
  • Ensure a healthy sales pipeline
  • Monitor financial performance of customers and pro-actively execute actions to improve
  • Structured and narrow portfolio focus/deeper sales efforts with existing high potential accounts
  • Actively generate and qualify new business opportunities from both existing and potential customers
  • Plan, prepare and carry out virtual/f2f meetings with assigned customers
  • Close cooperation with Tender Management in developing competitive offers
  • Close cooperation with other Sales Managers, both regional and corporate sales.
  • Negotiate contracts, close deals and create high quality quotes
  • Contribute with market insights in developing pricing structure
  • Ensure all relevant customer interaction is registered into the CRM
  • Make frequent use of available dashboards to ensure decisions/actions are based on data/facts
  • Store all relevant customer related documents on the Commercial Hub
  • Attend events and exhibitions in the region, to promote P&O Ferrymasters’ solutions and capabilities

Your Profile

As Sales manager you take responsibility, have perseverance and possess strong communication skills.

So you:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales within logistics and transport industry, especially container and trailer transport in Europe
  • Have good command of Dutch & English language, additional European languages are preferred
  • Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Are customer orientated and have good topographical knowledge
  • Are able to quickly adjust
  • Are accurate
  • Have a broad knowledge and understanding of European freight market
  • Have good negotiation skills
  • Have a good business acumen
  • Are result oriented
  • Have relationship skills
  • Are a good networker
