Control Tower Operator

Your role

As a Control Tower Operator, you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base.

The main purpose of your role is to be responsible for the correct settlement of all transport orders dealt within one of our dedicated Control Towers. By working with the strategic account, carriers and various internal departments the Control Tower Operator is responsible for meeting and exceeding service expectations as set by the customer of P&O Ferrymasters Ltd. 

Key responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for the whole customer order acceptance process linked to the administrative activities. Therefore, you will act as liaison to a dedicated client base and will advise customers on developments and resolve all queries relating to incidents e.g. refused loads or damages.
  • To provide an efficient and cost-effective collection and delivery service you will be maintaining and using a proper carrier portfolio. Your responsibility is to combine loads to optimise the load factor, taking in account of loading/unloading areas, wishes / demands of clients, specific load characteristics and combined loading regulations. Therefore, you will liaise closely with carriers to ensure that they have full, accurate and timely information to complete the job.
  • You will assist the Manager Control Tower and the Carrier Manager in meeting the commercial policy expectations and departmental objectives. You will then continuously search for ways to improve the efficiency of the collaboration between P&O Ferrymasters and the strategic account. 
Your profile
  • You have work experience in a similar role
  • Have a strong affinity with logistics and customer orientation
  • You are a real team player, always looking for opportunities and taking risks
  • Have very good knowledge of the Dutch and English language
  • You have a flexible attitude and last but not least; a good sense of humour
