General Manager

Your Role

As a General Manager Amsterdam will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. The main purpose of your role is to be responsible for the full P&L ownership and the commercial and operational leadership of P&O Ferrymasters in Amsterdam. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic growth of the North/Central Europe region, with a strong focus on expanding our Multimodal product portfolio— including both trailer, container and logistics services— through close collaboration with internal product teams and the corporate sales organization.

Key Responsibilities

You will play an active part in the company's commercial development.
You will have the following tasks:

• Promote high-quality service delivery to existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
• Ensure the efficient and compliant execution of all transport orders and administrative processes.
• Lead and develop local teams in the Amsterdam organisation, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain and grow relationships with the haulage industry to secure sufficient transport capacity.
• Align local operations and commercial initiatives with broader regional and corporate strategies.

Your Profile

• Good command of English and Dutch language
• Master’s degree in business, Logistics, or a related discipline
• Strong commercial acumen and a track record of business development and P&L management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proven experience in a senior general management or regional leadership role within the logistics or transport industry
• A creative and innovative character
• Stays calm and focused under pressure.
• Adapts quickly to changing market or operational conditions.
