Strategic Account Manager

Your Role

As a Strategic Account Manager will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. The main purpose of your role will be assigned a portfolio of approx. 10 accounts, a mixture of existing and potential. The accounts have been defined as Strategic by commercial management. The SAM shall focus on building and maintaining trusted relations on all levels with the aim to deliver on network development such as new block trains, significant volume/scale growth, relevant business development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

You will play an active part in the company's commercial development and contribute through innovative ideas for business development.
Next to this you will:

  • Create strategic account plans and align with commercial management
  • Actively contribute to SAM team meetings where the strategic plans are evaluated on a monthly basis
  • Build trusted relations with assigned (potential) customers on different levels, procurement, operations and HQ / C-level
  • Generate and actively work on high impact opportunities, ensuring a high revenue pipeline is build and maintained
  • Frequent meetings to be scheduled with the customer
  • Close cooperation with Contract Management in developing competitive offers to tenders
  • Close cooperation with Product and other internal stakeholders on business/network development opportunities
  • Negotiate contracts, close deals and create high quality quotes
  • Contribute with market insights in developing pricing structure
  • Ensure all relevant customer interaction is registered into the CRM
  • Make frequent use of available dashboards to ensure decisions/actions are based on data/facts
  • Store all relevant customer related documents on the Commercial Hub
Your Profile
  • At least 7 years experience in a commercial/ leadership role within European transport
  • Good command of English language and another European languages
  • Negotiation skills, Team Player and Networker
